Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation

Founded in 1982 by physicians, parents and community leaders, Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF) has raised over $44 Million for cancer research since its inception. This represents the persistent hard work of physicians, researchers, volunteers, staff and community partners who are dedicated to the health of our future generation—our children. Our mission has stayed true over the course of time: to improve the care, quality of life and survival rates of children with malignant diseases. Over the last 38 years, we have seen drastic improvements – survival rates for childhood cancer have risen from 10% to almost 80%. Because of research, the cancer death rate has dropped more dramatically for children than for any other age group. However, there are still childhood cancers that have not had the same results – rare and aggressive cancers continue to devastate families and rob children of their childhoods.

Susan G. Komen Orange County

The Susan G. Komen© Mission: Save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.

Susan G. Komen is the world’s largest breast cancer organization, funding more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit while providing real-time help to those facing the disease. Komen has set a Bold Goal to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50 percent in the U.S. by 2026. Komen was founded in 1982 by Nancy G. Brinker, who promised her sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would end the disease that claimed Suzy’s life.

Komen Orange County is working to better the lives of those facing breast cancer in the local community. Through our generous donors and sponsors to events like the Komen Orange County Race for the Cure©, Susan G. Komen Orange County© has invested more than $38 million in breast health programs to help reach uninsured and underserved women in the local community and has helped contribute to the more than $920 million invested globally in research.

Our local commitment is 75% of the funds raised stay in Orange County for local breast health outreach, education and special initiatives, and a community-based grants program to engage other local organizations to reduce deaths from breast cancer.

The remaining 25% is invested in the Susan G. Komen Research and Grant Training Program. Over the past 30 years, scientific and medical research has fueled our knowledge of breast cancers and helped us understand that breast cancer is not just a single disease but many diseases, unique to each individual. Thanks to our Komen supporters who have contributed to this fund providing over $800M to more than 2,500 scientific researchers and scientists around the globe.

The Richard A Neubauer Research Institute

The Richard A. Neubauer Research Institute (RANRI) believes in the healing power of oxygen. The Institute exists to further research, educate, advocate for the medical treatment of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

Richard A. Neubauer, M.D. was internationally recognized as a pioneer in the application of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) for a variety of neurological and related illnesses and disorders. Dr. Neubauer remained active with research and clinical work throughout his career and was always willing to share his great knowledge and expertise with colleagues, patients and wider audiences. He derived enormous pleasure from seeing those around him harness and develop the ongoing evolution of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) from all points of the globe and introduced bi-annual symposiums to expand the knowledge base of HBOT.

In 2008 while in declining health Dr. Neubauer passed the symposium baton to his colleague of many years, Dr. Donald Jolly-Gabriel. The Friends of Chelation Therapy non-profit, which was started by Dr. Jolly-Gabriel with cooperation with Dr. Neubauer, became the Richard A. Neubauer Research Institute to continue his work in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
