Our emphasis is on helping the woman within her unique situation, as well as preserving the life of the unborn child. Background Statement

LivingWell Pregnancy Centers was the first prolife medical clinic in the United States, opening in April, 1985.  We are the recognized leader in prolife pregnancy clinic ministry with strong national and local partnerships. We provide free pregnancy tests and limited ultrasounds, confidential counseling, after-abortion support, educational classes, housing and adoption referrals, community support referrals, material items, and provide a 24-hour hotline.  We also offer low cost well woman exams including pap smears, breast exams and pelvic exams, along with STI testing for our entire community.  We provide our services to all in our community regardless of race, creed, nationality, income, gender or age.  All are welcomed with non-judgmental compassion and care.

Impact Statement

Realizing there are many reasons that people choose unhealthy behaviors, we are now offering low cost counseling services to our community through LivingWell Pregnancy Centers on all of life's issues -- not just pregnancy issues.  In providing these services, we are empowering our community to make healthy choices for their lives.  We continue to provide our free and low cost services to Orange County, including the expansion of our after abortion recovery program.

Needs Statement

We need your most generous financial investment in LivingWell Pregnancy Centers to continue to offer our free and low cost services to our community. It costs money to provide free and low-cost services!  We want to reach more clients by expanding our advertising via several avenues.  This expansion is estimated to cost $180,000.  We want to expand our outreach programs with an estimated cost of $25,000.  We want to hire a full time nurse with an estimated annual cost of $75,000.  Your financial investment, big or small, is carefully managed and maximized in its usage.

CEO Statement

LivingWell Pregnancy Centers opened in April, 1985 as a prolife medical clinic.  Until then, all prolife centers were counseling centers only.  Finally, in the 1990's other prolife centers caught LivingWell Pregnancy Centers' vision and began converting to medical clinics from just counseling clinics.  I was operating one of those prolife counseling centers in northern California and had staff from LivingWell Pregnancy Centers come to northern California to train us how to operate as a medical clinic.  LivingWell Pregnancy Centers has with joy and expertise trained many centers who converted to become medical clinics freely sharing their knowledge and expertise to help each location to excel.  I am now honored and privileged to be at the "original" clinic.  The core foundation of LivingWell Pregnancy Centers has always been the ability to freely share the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ with our community.  This is the reason that we would never solicit or receive any government funding, as that would restrict our ability to share the gospel.  We receive all of our funding from our community who shares in our vision.  Do you believe that those facing pregnancy decisions should receive medically accurate information, compassionate counsel, and education on all of their alternatives so that they can make an informed decision that they can live with?  Then please join with us in standing for life in our community!  We welcome your involvement with us.

Barbara Ramey, Executive Director

Name Title Experience/Biography
Dr. Geeta Swamidass President

Upon receiving her medical degree in 1972 from Christian Medical College in Vellore, India, Geeta began practicing medicine in a rural hospital in the mission fields of India, treating patients with various ailments, performing difficult surgeries, and delivering babies.  It was in this hospital when Geeta witnessed an abortion and became burdened to minister to women with crisis pregnancies.  After moving to America, while in process of getting her medical license, Geeta was approached by a fellow physician in 1984 asking her to be part of a steering committee for a unique new ministry.  At that time there were 50 abortion facilities in the area, and no alternatives.  The vision for LivingWell Pregnancy Centers was to provide abortion alternatives through quality, compassionate medical care to women faced with unplanned pregnancies.  In addition, women could receive biblically based counsel and education.  Because of her past experience and her deep concern for women in need, Geeta stepped out in faith and accepted the position of Executive Director when the clinic opened in 1985.  Geeta has also become a licensed Midwife.

Geeta's hard work and passion for the ministry has won her international recognition and acclaim.  She is highly respected and is a sought after speaker.  She still enjoys speaking today to groups large or small and continues to have a wonderful ability to connect with people with her nurturing, gentle nature.  As President of LivingWell Pregnancy Centers, Geeta oversees the Medical Clinic and is an Ambassador of LivingWell Pregnancy Centers to our community.
