Overview

Mission Statement

Our mission is to save as many lives as possible and put an end to animal abuse, abandonment and neglect. We strive reduce shelter overpopulation, owner surrenders and the number of stray animals who roam our streets by promoting spaying and neutering, responsible pet ownership and pet retention.

Background Statement

Paw Prints in the Sand Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) all- animal rescue organization dedicated to rescuing, rehoming and rehabilitating abused, abandoned, neglected and stray companion animals. Virtually all donated funds go directly towards the care of the animals.

Headquartered in Orange County, California, Paw Prints in the Sand is an all-volunteer, all-foster organization committed to placing animals in loving, responsible, committed forever homes. We conduct a comprehensive screening process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a pet into their homes and lives.

We also serve as a resource to pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including positive behavior training and information on good nutrition. We are here to assist you in every way possible throughout the adoption process and will continue to be a helpful resource after you have welcomed your new pets into your life.

Impact Statement

Since we received our non-profit status last year, we've completed partnerships with Petco and the Petco Foundation, Best Friends Animal Society, BISSELL, Trupanion and D-Link.

Needs Statement

We need volunteers and growth consultants as well as potential Board members. We also want to eventually purchase land so we can rescue animals beyond dogs and cats. We are an all foster organization, so we are always looking for qualified fosters to give temporary homes to our rescue pets.

CEO Statement

Paw Prints in the Sand Animal Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) all- animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless and abused animals in high kill shelters and across the globe. According to the ASPCA, over 2.7 million companion animals are euthanized on an annual basis. Our goal is to reduce the number of companion animals that enter our nation’s shelters as well as the number of stray, abandoned, abused and neglected companion animals. Paw Prints in the Sand services help to reduce the number of companion animals in our city, county and state shelter system, which are typically run on tax dollars. Our services are a small investment in comparison to cost of ignoring the problem of over population in our local and national shelter system.
