Overview

Mission Statement

Hope In Motion International was founded on the desire to help the most vulnerable in society have an opportunity to live healthy and fulfilling lives. Our mission is to provide a medical safety net to the less advantaged in other countries, by channeling services, supplies and equipment that respond to unmet needs. The principals of HIM Int'l have a deep conviction of leaving the world a better place. We believe in a society, where people lift and enrich the lives of others, especially those that cannot help themselves. Instead of Counting our Blessings, we believe in Sharing our Blessings and paying our good fortune forward.

Background Statement

Hope In Motion International was formed 9 months ago with the desire to provide medical care and assistance to underserved children in other countries. The principals of HIM Int'l have a deep conviction of leaving the world a better place. We believe in a society, where people lift and enrich the lives of others, especially those that cannot help themselves. Instead of Counting our Blessings, we believe in Sharing our Blessings and paying our good fortune forward. One of the founders, Kevin Baldridge, lived in Latin America when he was young, before moving to California. Many of the images he witnessed of children his age, living in unfortunate conditions, never left his mind. He promised himself he would one day do something to make a difference. Hope In Motion International was born from that promise.

Impact Statement

Our organization was formed 9 months ago to provide medical services to the less advantaged in other countries. We have obtained our letter of determination, confirming our non-profit status and are listed on GuideStar. We received confirmation of registration with the California State Attorney General Charities Registry. We have provided food and supplies to two orphanages in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and have taken children to optometrists and purchased corrective eyeware. Our near term goal is to take 3 trips each year to San Miguel to provide dental and optometry services to the children in 2 orphanages. Our trips will include dentists and optometrists who will perform medical exams, dispense medicine and provide corrective procedures and services. We will also provide local, partner medical practitioners, with medicine and dental/optometry equipment and supplies. Our next trip is planned for late March, 2019. Once a good base has been established, Hope In Motion International will expand to other regions in Mexico, and eventually countries in Latin America. Our plan is to funnel 95% - 100% of funds donated to the people we aim to serve.

Needs Statement

Our primary need is to obtain medical practitioners (optometrists, dentists and nurse practitioners) to accompany us on our trips to Mexico.  Our trips will last 4 - 5 days, including travel time.

We are also looking for a source to obtain relatively new dental and optometry supplies and equipment.

Finally, we are looking for cash donations to purchase medicine, vitamins, food and supplies for the two orphanages in San Miguel.

CEO Comments

My wife, myself and fellow board members intend to self fund Hope In Motion International during the first 2 years of operation.  We expect our funding will be supplemented by donations from family and friends in the following 2 - 3, before seeking grant contributions.  We also intend to execute our first capital campaign in 2020.
